The ombre sweater an easy fit raglan sweater, knitted in a sunny gradient of yellow yarn dyed with weld.
It was designed as a creative use of dye resources - each coloured stripe is dyed with the same dye bath, starting with the strongest yellow and the bottom and fading to the natural wool colour at the top.
It’s a cosy, easy to wear shape with long sleeved fit - perfect for winter layering! The cuffs and hem are knitted in a contrast white yarn, and the relaxed rolled neckline is knitted in the brightest yellow to echo the bottom of the sweater.
The Ombre Sweater is currently only available in this one-off, one-sized piece - please check the measurements below to see if this jumper is a good fit before purchasing. I’m modelling the jumper in the photos - I am 5’7” and wear a size 12.
As with all Ria Burns Knitwear pieces, the yarn used is my bespoke Shetland-Romney lambswool from Fernhill Farm in Somerset. The yarn has been dyed by me using homegrown weld, and knitted on my hand-powered knitting machine in my North Somerset studio.
All purchases from Ria Burns Knitwear come gift wrapped with recycled tissue paper and tied with a naturally dyed yarn. You can even add a gift note at checkout and send the item directly to the lucky recipient!
