Seed to Skein is a membership community for yarn crafters who want to grow their own colour from the ground up.
Each month, you’ll be guided through what to sow, tend and harvest in your dye garden, alongside updates from my own garden as it evolves through the year. You’ll also receive a seasonal dye recipe, practical yarn dyeing tutorials (beginning with the foundations for lasting, beautiful colour), and a focused exploration of one plant or technique.
This is a membership for those who want to slow down, work with the seasons, and follow the full journey - from seed, to plant, to skein.

Meet Your Guide
Ria Burns
Ria is an experienced natural dyer and dye plant grower, and has been dyeing yarn for their brand since 2018.
They are an accomplished workshop facilitator, with a real passion for sharing knowledge for natural dyes and dye plants.
Ria has 8 years experience of growing natural dyes for their business and has a Level 2 qualification in Practical Horticulture from the RHS. They are the author of ‘Dyeing Yarn Naturally’, published by the Crowood Press in 2023.
