Natural Dye Kit - Dye Your Own Neckerchief
Learn the craft of natural dyeing with our new kit, and dye your own neckerchief!
This natural dyeing kit is a perfect gift for beginners wanting to try out the craft - as well as learning all about natural dyeing, they will have a beautifully dyed knitted neckerchief to wear with pride afterwards.
In this natural dyeing kit you’ll learn about two dyeing processes - immersion (all over colour) and bundle dyeing (a unique flower pattern). Choose which method you’d prefer to use, and follow the simple written and illustrated instructions provided to guide you through the process.
The neckerchief is knitted by Ria using their bespoke, traceable Shetland-Romney lambswool yarn, and the flowers provided have been grown in Ria’s garden. All of the packaging is recycled and recyclable, which combines to make the ultimate sustainable kit!
The kit includes:
A knitted neckerchief in a fine 100% Shetland-Romney lambswool yarn - pre-prepared so it is ready for dyeing
Dried flowers - choose either coreopsis grandiflora (orange) or dyer’s chamomile (yellow)
Wool twine
Full written and illustrated instructions
Extra equipment you will need: a heat source, a pan, a vegetable steamer or colander*, vinegar*, tongs*. (*for the bundle dye method only)
This kit is accessible for the complete beginner, and would be suitable for older children and up, although adult supervision is advised.
