Join Ria for an online introduction to natural dyeing using indigo and woad - Thursday 16th October - 4-6pm

In this online workshop, Ria will share an introduction to creating natural blues using indigo and woad. Ria will demonstrate and show examples of the range of shades that can be created using different techniques, ranging from the simple to the complex.

During an introductory talk, Ria will cover the following topics:

  • How to prepare natural fibres for indigo dyeing

  • Different methods of indigo dyeing

  • How to grow indigo and woad

  • Where to source indigo pigment and what equipment you’ll need

They will then demonstrate several of the the indigo dyeing processes live, using a variety of natural fibre yarns and fabrics.

The workshop will be hosted live on Zoom, and you will be able to ask questions throughout the session.

If you cannot make the live session, you will be sent the recording and be able to catch up for 30 days after the workshop. Along with the recording, you will be sent a PDF explaining the methods outlined in the workshop, and list of equipment, suppliers and further reading.
