Bundle Dye a Sock Blank Kit
Learn the bundle dyeing technique at home to create a naturally unique and colourful wool sock blank!
Using a selection of dried homegrown and responsibly foraged flowers and other plants, with this kit you will decorate the sock blank (a knitted length of fabric) which you will then roll and tie together before steaming to lock in the colour. Unwrap to reveal the unique pattern, and, once dried and washed, you will then have a 100g of unique yarn to use for yarn crafts. The colour and pattern will reveal itself as you knit with it!
The sock blank is available in two yarn bases - Corriedale (South African fleece, produces a whiter yarn) or Bluefaced Leicester (British fleece, in a cream/ecru colour). It has been machine knitted by Ria in a 100% Corriedale or British Blueface Leicester wool yarn developed for socks. It is non-superwash and has no nylon content, and has been pre washed and mordanted so it is ready for dyeing.
The kit includes:
A 100g Corriedale or Bluefaced Leicester wool sock blank - pre-prepared so it is ready for dyeing
Two bags of dried dyes in warm and cold colours
Wool twine
Full written and illlustrated instructions

Extra equipment you will need: a heat source, a pan, a vegetable steamer or colander, vinegar, tongs.
This kit is accessible for the complete beginner, and would be suitable for older children and up, although adult supervision is advised.
