Ria will be teaching a free natural dyeing workshop as part of the programme for Bristol’s Festival of Nature, at Hartcliffe City Farm.
Join us from 10-1 on Sunday 14th June to learn all about natural dyeing with native plants. If you’re keen to get hands-on, you’ll be able to create a unique bundle dyed cotton patch using native flowers and other botanicals, which you can take home with you!
Have you ever wondered how to create vibrant, natural colour without synthetic dyes? Join us at Hartcliffe City Farm for a hands-on natural dyeing workshop, led by Bristol-based textile artist and author Ria Burns. You'll discover how native and homegrown plants can be used to dye fabric in a beautiful range of hues, and learn techniques you can take home and try yourself. Suitable for complete beginners and confident crafters alike, this workshop connects creativity with the natural world right on your doorstep. You'll leave with a bundle dyed sample, know-how, and a new appreciation for the colours growing all around us.
The workshop is free, but we recommend booking a ticket here to guarantee your place: https://events.humanitix.com/natural-dyes-of-native-plants
