Ever wondered how to use tree fibres in making crafts, or where natural dyes come from in nature? Come along to found out from our artist, Ria Burns, who will be leading activities during this event. Try some eco printing and mark making with leaves and other natural materials.

Ria will also demonstrate how to make inks with plants, and will have a broad selection of natural dye samples on display to showcase the broad variety of natural colours that trees and other plants can create.
Ria is a North Somerset based natural dyer, textile designer and researcher who works with homegrown and foraged plants to create vibrant colour on natural fibres. Their focus is on locally sourced and grown dyes, utilising low impact, sustainable dyeing methods. They are the author of Dyeing Yarn Naturally published by the Crowood Press in 2023.
